August/September Mission Letter

August 4, 2010

Dear Pastor and Church Member,

What would you say the number one thing is that we are not teaching our children?  We could say salvation, character, trust, obedience, not to be lazy, stay as debt free as possible, honor and obey your parents and never give up on God.  All of these would be at the top of the list.  But what is the apex for teaching our children?  Please read I Samuel 3:1-21.  I believe Eli instructed Samuel in how to hear the voice of the Lord.  We must instruct our children in following the voice of God.  America’s children are bearing the load of not knowing the voice of God.  Here is an outline that I preached about hearing the voice of God.

1.    Hearing the voice of God will lead you in the right direction.

2.    Hearing the voice of God will help prevent detours in your life.

3.    Hearing the voice of God will help you defeat the devil.

4.    Hearing the voice of God disturbs the sinner.

5.    Hearing the voice of God decreases self.

6.    Hearing the voice of God brings stability.

7.    Hearing the voice of God prevents shipwreck.

8.    Hearing the voice of God helps search the hearts of a sinner.

I hope you can come and visit the Academy.  God has done a beautiful job and supplied so many needs.  A church in West Virginia provided means to purchase two washers and two dyers.  It was a total of $4612.00.  Their VBS raised $900.00 of it.  Pastor Cochran and Lighthouse Baptist Church we thank you for raising the funds.  The items are installed and working.

Please pray for the following meetings:

Their names are Elise, Caleb, Luke and Braeden.

Until He Calls Us Home,                                                           Evangelist Jimmie M. Clark

Please continue praying for wisdom and knowledge.

We are needing lights to go on columns at the gates.  We raised the money for the stone work and labor on the colums.  Now, we are wanting to put lights on six columns.  They will be $241.00 a piece.  They are made out of brass.  The light fixtures are twenty-one inches tall.

DO NOT FORGET OUR ANNUAL BURDEN FOR AMERICA REVIVAL COMING UP NOVEMBER 1-5, 2010

Right now I have Tony Fenney, Jody Harrison, Jeff Ledbetter, John Shook, Barry Philbeck as some of the preachers.

I will have the Farmer Christian Academy Girls, The Lindsey brothers, Penny Andrews, Audrey Koonts and Ben Mayo help with the music.

I will have a special choir each night.

On Friday night, it will be youth night and five youth choirs will be singing.

Hope you can be there.
